Under normal circumstances, the fan wire and the switch wire are connected with a nut, and we can loosen the nut by turning it counterclockwise. Please note, however, that some models of wire go directly from the fan to the switch. Please do not cut the length of the wires lightly. You can use a narrow-blade screwdriver to insert into the slot near each wire, and the wires can be automatically loosened.

Install new parts carefully
Take out the photos taken earlier and follow the photos to install them step by step. Reinsert the fan wire into the slot on the new switch, and then fix the connection with a nut. Wrap the exposed end of the fan wire around the corresponding terminal and tighten each screw. You may need to cut about 1/2 inch of insulation from the switch and fan wires to make the connection. You can use a pair of wire strippers to do this.
Reinstall the fan housing to cover the entire switch, connect the new switch with a nut, and screw the mounting cover back to the original position. Make sure everything is installed, and then turn on the power to allow the fan to resume normal operation.
